The RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is a requirement for a number of jobs in the wet leisure environment from Pool Lifeguard to Centre Manager.

 

On successful completion of the course the candidate will be fully qualified to work as a Pool Lifeguard, giving them skills for life and a qualification that lasts 2 years.

Lifeguard Course Pre-Requisites

Every candidate attending a NPLQ course must be 16-years-old at the time of taking the NPLQ final assessment and be able to:

  • Jump / dive into deep water

  • Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds

  • Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water

  • Tread water for 30 seconds

  • Surface dive to the floor of the pool

  • Climb out unaided without ladder / steps and where the pool design permits


At the Flamingo Pool we offer PXB spinal board training as well as Rescue board spinal training and AED (Automated External Defibrillation) training included within the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.

First Aid at Work Qualification

 

 

The IQL Level 3 First Aid at Work Qualification covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills, equipping the first-aider to apply first aid to a range of specific injuries and illness.

 

This three-day course provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed to become a confident first aider at work, giving the candidate the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.

The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for three years, making it suitable for all industries and enabling an employer to meet HSE requirements. For best practice we support the HSE recommendation to complete an annual update of your first aid skills.

About the Course

The First Aid at Work course is 18 hours and comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, as well as a practical assessment on CPR and first aid.

 

Pre-Requisites

Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age at the time of taking the assessment. No prior first aid knowledge is required.

Paediatric First Aid

The IQL Level 3 Paediatric First Aid covers a wide range of CPR and first aid skills, equipping the first-aider to administer first aid to children and infants.

 

This two-day course covers a range of CPR and first aid skills related to children, providing the candidate with the skills to ensure a safe environment for children and infants. This course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as well as OFSTED. The certification also meets the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive Regulations.

 

The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for three years.

About the Course

Paediatric First Aid is 12 hours and comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, as well as a practical assessment on CPR and first aid. Assessment is on-going by the instructor in respect of the student’s practical skills and there will be multiple choice question paper to answer in respect of their knowledge.

 

Pre-Requisites

Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age at the time of taking the assessment. No prior first aid knowledge is required.
